New Tires May Really be Old!

Did you know that tires have an expiration date? Okay, they don't officially have expiration dates but they should.

Manufactures may not want you to know but tires have life-span that has nothing to do with tread wear.

Watch an ABC television video that explains what can happen if you drive on old tires.

Always be Conscious of Low Overhangs

We RVers need to always be conscious of the heigth of our rigs. Even a low-hanging tree branch can cause costly damage but low-overhead structures like overpasses, tunnels, and even gas station and other low-clearance canopies can ruin your day. See what happens to a fifth wheel owner who takes for granted his rig will clear while he was circling Texas State Bank in Center, TX to park in the parking lot.

The driver and his 10 year old son were not injured.

Comparing Two Types of RV Walls

I'm not sure why manufacturers are still building RVs with stick and tin walls. It seems to me the additional warranty issues would eat up any savings in construction costs.

But this video should give you reason to think twice about buying a traditionally built travel trailer.

Of course there are many factors that go into a properly constructed RV besides its wall construction so, even though Fran and I own a Coachman 5th wheel, the fact that we are featuring this video does not mean we are endorsing Coachmen products.

Prototype Toy Hauler Kneels to the Ground

This is a demonstration of prototype toy hauler. It's biggest feature is a hydraulic suspension that allows the trailer kneel to the ground so you don't need ramps. The builder says it can be used for hauling toys, camping, hunting and you can even use it for ice fishing with the optional holes in the floor.
