Cynthia Brown is so fond of Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, she camps there half the year – from May through through October, as a campground host.

“This park is absolutely beautiful,” said the retired American Red Cross phlebotomist, as she sat under a large blue tarp hung over her popup camper.

This is the second year Brown, of Whitman, has spent the season at Wompatuck, greeting campers and helping them find their way around.

She couldn’t be happier.

RVer talks about the damage to her RV and the owner tells what happened when a tornado hit his Massachusetts campground last month.


In the following video the same campground owner describes the situation where a camper was killed when her motorhome was turned upside down during the tornado.



I think it is important to note here that the tornado was in Massachusetts, a state not know for tornadoes. This spring, northern California reported three damaging tornados. Again, California is not known for tornados. It’s important that RVers experience severe weather anywhere be aware of the potential dangers.

I never get tired of watching things being built. Watching RVs being built, either a video or taking a factory tour, is especially interesting to me because it gives me insight into how they are constructed and how I can effect necessary repairs.

The Ford Excel requires the most extensive work to convert because it necessitates a width increase of about 8 inches (20 cm). Once the body work is done, the next step is to seal the metal with primer and paint. After that, it is time to start fitting internal components
